The all-new Nokia Asha 501, is now available for sale at Nokia Store across Malaysia. Launched last month, the entry-level smartphone runs the latest Asha platform.

The new Asha platform is built on its existing S40 base, leveraging on the technologies from its acquisition of mobile OS developer Smarterphone last year. The mobile OS is fast, fluid and gesture-based.

The Nokia Asha 501 has amazing battery life, thanks to the efficient Asha platform, boasting an incredible standby time of 26 days in dual-SIM mode, and an outstanding 48 days when in single-SIM mode.

The adorable smartphone weighs only 98 grams and features a scratch resistant 3″ glass display, encased in a removable polycarbonate casing. The device is available in a choice of colours – yellow, bright red and black.

Many popular apps are available or are in development for the Nokia Asha platform including Facebook, Foursquare, Line, LinkedIn, Twitter and games from Gameloft and Electronic Arts. Facebook and Twitter apps, in fact, come built-in. Every Nokia Asha 501 owner will also get the EA 40 Games Pack for free (a US$75 value).
