HMD Global, the official home of Nokia phones is celebrating the company’s first anniversary in Malaysia. What better way to celebrate its presence than to offer special limited time deals on its affordable Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 phones.
For the month of December, you can take home the Nokia 3 for just MYR499 (down from MYR599). In addition to the savings, you stand to take home a gift pack consisting of phone accessories worth MYR150.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 5 will be offered at a price of MYR699 (usual price MYR799). You’ll also get to enjoy a special gift pack comprising phone accessories worth MYR200.
To recap, the Nokia 5 boasts a premium aluminium unibody, packing a 5.2-inch IPS HD display and powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (with microSD support), and a 13MP f/2.0 main shooter and 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. It’s kept juiced with a 3,000mAh battery and is available in Matte Black, Silver and Tempered Blue.
The little Nokia 3 on the other hand, features an aluminium frame with a polycarbonate body. The budget number packs a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a MediaTek MTK6737 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (with microSD expansion).
It features 8MP f/2.0 cameras for front and back (the front camera features autofocus!) and it comes with a 2,630mAh battery.
Both devices of course run pure stock Android, and will receive Oreo updates.

Vijay Thangavelu, HMD Global Country Manager for Malaysia and Myanmar said the offer isn’t just to celebrate the company’s first anniversary in Malaysia but also to reward loyal Nokia fans and the public who have supported the brand.
According to Vijay, since the introduction of the iconic Nokia 3310 in Malaysia, the brand has recorded encouraging sales of its device lineup: Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and flagship Nokia 8.
HMD Global opened more than 30 Nokia stores across the country in 2017, and it is looking to add more in 2018. The target for next year is to hit 100 Nokia stores nationwide.
