One of the biggest draws about Nokia devices, aside from a pure stock Android experience is the speed of OS updates. True to its promise, the latest device in the Nokia device portfolio to receive Android Oreo is the Nokia 3.
The Nokia 3 joins the Nokia 8, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 with the latest versions of Google’s mobile OS.
Android Oreo brings the latest features including Picture-in-Picture mode and 60 new emojis. Apart from that, Android Instant Apps help declutter your Android experience further, while optimising the already live-wire Nokia 3 battery to last even longer.
It’s no secret that HMD Global has been working closely with Google to ensure all its devices deliver the best possible software experience. The latest Nokia 7 Plus and the new Nokia 6 both feature Android Oreo out-of-the-box, while the entry-level Nokia 1 boasts Android Oreo via Android Go.
Every Android update gets refined by Nokia’s beta labs programme, that has grown to over 50,000 members since it launched last year. The programme is designed to give early adopters a voice to shape the Nokia experience.
Running on stock Android means Nokia phones deliver a pure, stock Android experience. It also means that they are one of the earliest receive the latest security patches and feature updates from Google.
One key feature of Android Oreo is Google zero touch enrolment. With this feature, organisations can deploy a Nokia device with enterprise mobility management setting pre-configured. The phones can be configured online and drop-shipped to employees so that they can start using their phones right out of the box.
All Nokia smartphones with Android Oreo from Nokia 3 and up support zero touch enrollment.
The budget Nokia 3 features a MediaTek MTK6737 processor and is housed in an aluminium frame and polycarbonate body. Optics-wise, the Nokia 3 packs 8MP f/2.0 cameras for both front and back.
