Nokia has been one busy phone maker. With an expanding Lumia family, from the top of the range Lumia 1520, down to the budget-friendly Lumia 520, the Finnish maker has had a very busy 2013. And before the year closes, it has announced another. This time the Lumia 525, a successor to its best-selling Windows Phone 8 device – Lumia 520.
The new Lumia 525 continues where the Lumia 520 left off – signature changeable shell, 4-inch IPS LCD (800 x 400) display, and now with 1GB RAM and running the latest Nokia Lumia Black version of Windows Phone 8.
“The Lumia 525 follows on the heels of its hugely successful predecessor, the Lumia 520, which has been a great success story for our Windows Phone 8 portfolio since its launch earlier this year. The Nokia Lumia 525 will expand our reach, bringing high end Lumia experiences to many more consumers at an affordable price.” said Dick Yoong, Country Manager Malaysia and Brunei, Nokia. “With the ability to run the latest apps like Instagram, Vine, and Halo: Spartan Assault, this beautifully designed smarphone is a clear signal that Nokia delivers a better smartphone experience at every price point.”
Imaging has always been a department a Nokia Lumia device has excelled in. With the Lumia 525, Nokia has packed a 5MP autofocus camera with advanced imaging apps like Nokia Camera, and Cinemagraph.
The Lumia 525 also supports Nokia MixRadio – providing free, unlimited streaming of music without sign-in or ads. Nokia MixRadio currently has over 13 million music tracks.
Another Nokia signature is the free suite of HERE applications including the excellent HERE Maps, HERE Drive and HERE Transit navigation and mapping apps.
Included free with the Lumia 525 is also Xbox gaming, Microsoft Office, and 7GB of free online SkyDrive storage.
The Lumia 525 comes with 8GB storage, and a microSD slot supporting up to 64GB of additional storage.
