MyGroser: Malaysia’s first independent full-range online grocery is here

MyGroser

There’s a new on-demand online grocery in town! MyGroser is Malaysia’s first independent fully online grocery store that delivers fresh meat, seafood, vegetables, fruit and dairy, frozen food, dry food, groceries, premium products and daily essentials, right to your doorstep. No traffic jams. No looking for parking. No paying extra for e-hailing rides. No fuss and no hassle.

Wait, another grocery delivery service? What about HappyFresh and HonestBee; Jaya Grocer and Tesco? What makes MyGroser different?

Unlike pure delivery services like HappyFresh and HonestBee, MyGroser operates on a Cloud Store model—it has its own physical “cloud stores” that stock inventory. It operates its own end-to-end supply chain. I’m assuming the concept works like GrabKitchen’s “cloud kitchen”—with data being used to dictate what kind of food or food types are most in demand for cloud stores to stock up.

But why do this? Isn’t it expensive to build and maintain brick-and-mortar stores? Short answer: yes. But there’s a valid reason. Who wants meat or seafood that goes bad by the time it reaches the customer?

MyGroser

MyGroser’s dedicated cloud stores are modelled after your favourite supermarkets—it contains cold rooms, temperature-controlled environments and processing sites. This ensures unmatched level of freshness and cleanliness as fresh food is protected from excessive handling and temperature kept constant.

When an order comes in, dedicated pickers and packers process the order, select items, pack them carefully, and prepare them for delivery teams.

Delivery is handled by MyGroser’s own delivery fleet and where needed, its delivery partners. Again, deliveries are done with thermal control packaging to keep fresh product fresher for longer.

Throughout the process, customers can speak to MyGroser support through its dedicated help chat accessible from the lower right hand side of every page on the website. And, MyGroser says, no chat bots; they use real people.

What can I buy?

In terms of product selection, the new-kid-on-the-block currently has close to 9,000 items on its catalogue, comprising fresh product (meats, seafood, vegetables), fruit and dairy, frozen food, dry food, groceries, premium products and daily essentials catalogues.

The site currently features a selection of special collections including Items on Promotion, Made in Malaysia, Malaysian Favourites, MyGroser Specials, and Meatless Monday. Expect more themed collections in weeks to come.

New items are being added weekly as the platform continues to expand its supplier network including from Malaysia’s favourite brands. What’s for certain, you can expect the same favourite products you can find in local supermarkets and hyper markets. The only difference is that you can get all this right from the comfort of your home or office.

Where does MyGroser deliver?

MyGroser delivers any time between 9.00AM and 9.00PM, seven days a week across most of the Klang Valley including Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Puchong, Bangsar, Mont Kiara, and Bandar Utama.
