You can now add music to Facebook Stories

Facebook Lip Sync Live

After introducing Lip Sync Live in June, Facebook is launching Music on Facebook Stories, and soon you’ll be able to add songs to your Profile.

You’ll now be able to add a song to photos and videos you share to Facebook Stories and News Feed.

All you need to do is take a photo or video from the Facebook Camera or grab one from your camera roll. Then tap on the sticker icon and select the new music sticker. Find the song you want to add, pick the perfect part to share, then add the sticker with the artist and song name. Like any other sticker, you can move it around as well as add other stickers and effects to jazz up your story.

In addition to that, Facebook is also expanding Lip Sync Live to Pages, giving artists and creators even more ways to connect with their fans. Lip Sync Live has rolled out to all profiles in many countries around the world.

According to Facebook, people want to see the words to the songs while they lip sync. So, they’ve now added lyrics to Lip Sync Live. Sing along to Dua Lipa’s “New Rules,” Khalid’s “Better,” and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5. Facebook will be adding even more soon.

Soon you’ll also be able to add songs – whether it’s something you’re currently listening to, or your favourite tunes – to a new music section on your profile. You’ll also be able to pin a song to the top of your profile to share with friends.

Songs that you add to your profile will visually showcase the artist and track. When a friend plays a song on your profile, they will see an accompanying video featuring photos of the artist and album art. They can then choose to add the song to their own profile, or visit the artist’s Facebook Page.

Facebook has partnered music companies like Universal Music Group, Sony/ATV, Global Music Rights and Kobalt Music Publishing to bring music to the social platform. It also works with independent artists and labels to expand opportunities for artists.

The new features may not be available in all regions, just as Lip Sync Live hasn’t been made available to Malaysian users just yet.
