Xiaomi’s ground-breaking Mi MIX was a show stealer when it first debuted two years ago. The concept phone became a key driver to the full screen, near bezel-less smartphone trend we see today. Its successor, the Mi MIX 2 is an improved and refined version, boasting top end specs, and premium design and build. Now, you can get your hands on the beautiful limited edition variant that’s fully ceramic, in glorious white.
The Mi MIX 2 Special Edition comes in a 4-sided full ceramic unibody exterior, topped with an 18K gold plated ring around the main camera bump. It’s a sight to behold, and feels even better in the hand.
On the front is the stunning 5.99-inch Full HD+ display and powering the device is the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 chipset. The difference between the standard Mi MIX 2 is in the memory stakes. The special edition gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage compared to 6GB RAM + 64GB storage of the standard issue.
Aside from these, all else remains the same: the single 12MP IMX386 main shooter with 4-axis OIS and the awkwardly positioned 5MP selfie camera on the bottom right.
Keeping the device juiced is a 3,400mAh battery that supports quick charging via USB Type-C.
The dual-SIM 4G LTE device runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box.
Pricing and availability
The Mi MIX 2 is priced at MYR2,699 and you can pick one up from the official Mi Store on Lazada. If ceramic is not your thing, the standard Mi Mix 2 in Black is a steal at MYR2,199.
