Maxis and Embedded Wireless (EWL), a home-grown healthcare solutions provider have embarked on a partnership to bring to market a new Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solution for Health Monitoring. The solution leverages on EWL’s remote patient monitoring solution and Maxis’ M2M capabilities.
With the solution, patients’ wellness and vital signs can be remotely monitored via smartphone, tablet, PC or laptop.
A patient’s health data is first collected through a range of Bluetooth enabled medical devices, then sent to EWL’s Health Server which can be remotely accessed in realtime by clinicians and care-givers via the EWL patient monitoring portal.
Maxis enables connectivity to the Zilant Health Server, with an M2M 3GB data plan.
Key features and benefits of the M2M Health Monitoring Solution include:
- Zilant Health Server with Maxis M2M connectivity which captures patients data via Bluetooth enabled medical devices.
- Realtime access to patient’s health data through an online patient monitoring portal accessible via web and mobile devices.
- Notifications via SMS or email to doctors, healthcare personnel and caregivers.
- Video-conferencing and in-portal discussion capabilities between doctors, healthcare personnel and patients.
The first user to adopt the M2M Health Monitoring Solution is Love On Wheels Healthcare Services (LOWHS), a new breed of local extended healthcare providers recognised by the Malaysian Government.
Maxis launched the country’s first managed wireless machine-to-machine service – Managed M2M – in 2011. The service has since been enhanced with an improved portal, better features, new rate plans and superior customer support.
