Can A.I. replace M.I (a Mother’s Instinct)?

I swear it felt like I was watching an episode of Black Mirror on Netflix. I’m referring to Maxis’ recent Mother’s Day video ad, which explores artificial intelligence (A.I.) and machines in the future.

A.I. and machine learning have been getting a lot of airtime lately. And for good reason. Machines and robots are already very much part of our lives, and in the future could take over many roles that are once held by humans.

In fact, research firm Gartner estimates that by 2020, 85% of customer interactions will be managed without humans.

We’re already seeing the proliferation of bots in communication channels, and virtual assistants like Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa. And this will only increase and get more advanced with time.

Some of the world’s leading A.I. scientists predict machines will outsmart humans before 2030.

OK, so A.I. will outsmart humans. But, can A.I. replace human emotion? Can A.I. replace a Mother’s Instinct?

Maxis explores this in this intriguing ad for Mother’s Day. Check the ad out:
