Maxis just announced that Morten Lundal, current CEO of Maxis Berhad will be leaving the company upon the expiry of his contract on 31 March 2018. Lundal took the helm of the green telco in 2014.
Lundal once transformed then small telco player DiGi to become a leader in the prepaid market. His jump to Maxis in October 2013 was a little of a surprise for the industry, but was a splash of fresh paint for the green telco.
The fact was that Maxis, at that time, had lost its flair and likeability with its customers and the general consumer.
During his stint, Lundal transformed the company internally by flattening its managerial structure as well as instilling a more open, collaborative culture.
He put emphasis on customer experience, being central to how Maxis operates as an organisation. And he steered the brand to focus on what matters: the network.
Maxis started offering 4G LTE in 2013, and has since spent MYR1 billion each year to modernise its network and fibre infrastructure.
The company currently serves more than 10.1 million postpaid and prepaid customers nationwide.
