Maxis CEO Morten Lundal with Dushyan Vaithaiyanthan, Maxis Head of Consumer Business earlier today made a special announcement live on Facebook to address a recent backlash against the telco, and reassure its customers.
The short announcement saw Maxis upping data quota for existing and new MaxisONE customers. Customers on its base MaxisONE 98 plan will see data quota increase from 1GB to 5GB per month. Meanwhile, customers on the 3GB plan will see this upped to 8GB.
The new enhanced plans will take effect at the end of the month.

In the meantime, all MaxisONE customers will receive free 3GB of data starting next week.

Too late, ported to better option. Celcom is offering 10gb and now every weekend I am happy surfing with extra 5gb high speed data.

  • Mia Sarah Ismail

yup good deal but a bit too late la..felt insulted to become their loyal customer..
why’s the point give so many data but did not reduce price..if unfinish data..cannot carry forward = wastage
celcom better..not finish data can carry forward..not sure abt others telco though..bye bye maxis

Well at least we still manage to use it during weekend.
For me, I always hang out during weekend. So, I wouldn’t mind of taking additional data.
As you know that, public wifi signal is weak and slow

Maxis is counter back by given xtra data quota to whom want to port out now it offer to all their cust once it get viral by angry ‘loyal cust’
..but still not worth it..RM 98 wth 5GB..Compare to Digi Post Paid..you only pay RM78 n get 7GB..u get xtra 2.. 2gb more with less RM20..with unlimited call n can carry remaining quota data to next month

  • Larva Chan

Digi 7gb plan RM78 per month, Celcom 10gb plan RM80 per month while Maxis 5gb plan RM98 per month. Price for the plans are slightly different but the data given are beyond compare. Plus, user will get extra 5gb for free on weekends upon subscript Celcom plan. Smart consumer will know which is the best choice

Celcom 5GB is on weekends only, hope people realise this.

Agreed. I’m busy with my job during weekdays, only have the idle time during weekends. I prefer to stay at home and surf internet or watch movie online, even if I hang out I prefer data than the public wifi. The weekend 5gb data is more to my liking
