LEVEL UP KL 2017 conference is back and is set to scorch Bangsar South later this month. The annual games and creative content conference promises to be bigger and better, with the goal of making Malaysia the games hub of Southeast Asia.
What is LEVEL UP KL?
It is an annual South East Asian (SEA) conference led by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), an agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Communication and Media. Their mandate, is to develop the games and creative content industry. Their goal of the upcoming conference is to provide a platform for the region to bring together game developers, publishers as well as technology providers to meet, study and share their information of content development technologies and most importantly, the business trends in the industry today.
When & where will LEVEL UP KL 2017 be held?
Set to take place in various locations around Bangsar South from the 4 to 9 November. The main conference however, is set to take place on 7 and 8 November at the Connexion@Nexus Conference & Event Centre.
Who will be attending LEVEL UP KL 2017?
LEVEL UP KL 2017 hopes to bring over 700 delegates from our local waters and other countries in SEA including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
How many speakers and exhibitors are expected to turn up?
More than 40 notable speakers will be present this year from the greatest studios including Wan Hazmer from Square Enix, Danny Koo from MARVEL Entertainment, Brian Recktenwald from Naughty Dog, Grayson Chalmers from Riot Games and many more. As for our local speakers, Desmond Lee from Applxplore and Falk Au Yeong from SoundtRec Malaysia will also be present.
Also, more than 60 exhibitors will participate for this year including the finalists of the South East Asia Game Awards, local game studios, participants from regional associations such as Asosiasi Game Indonesia (AGI), the Singapore Chapter of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and many more.
What can be expected at LEVEL UP KL?
The action-packed five days of the game development event covers both business and technical aspects of the industry. Other major highlights include the SEA Game Jam, LEVEL UP KL Conference, workshops and specialised tracks, industry showcase and exhibition, South East Asia Game Awards, the official launch of the LEVEL UP Incorporated and the journey into the MARVEL Universe at KDU University.

A choice of either Conference-only tickets, Conference+Business Connection Program (BCP) tickets or the individual tickets for the workshops. Tickets are priced from MYR100 to MYR800.
