Guten tag! I’m waving ‘hi’ from Berlin, having touched down a couple of hours ago after 13-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur. The agenda? IFA Berlin 2016, together with Lenovo, where the tech brand will host a holiday product launch.
IFA as you may know is one of the biggest global trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances. Hosted in the beautiful, historical city of Berlin, IFA is a meeting place for retailers, buyers and industry experts and global media. Each year it attracts visitors from over 100 countries.
Lenovo is no stranger to IFA, as it is again set to show its leadership across its entire portfolio – user-centric design, wearables and smartphones; tablets, PCs, servers and software; cloud services and enterprise solutions.
Innovation never stops
Last year, it revealed a host of innovations and upgrades to its product line including the new Moto360 Collection of smartwatches; VIBE smartphones including the VIBE P1, P1m and VIBE S1; ThinkPad YOGA 260 and 460 convertible notebooks; ThinkCentre M900 Tiny desktop; Y Series gaming PCs; Windows 10 PCs and tablets that include the ideapad MIIX 700 2-in-1 tablet, ideacentre AIO 700, ideapad 300 and ideapad 500 notebooks. It also revealed its flagship YOGA Tab 3 Pro tablet (the one I’m typing on now), a groundbreaking tablet that packs a 10.1-inch QHD screen, Dolby Atmos, 18 hours battery life and LTE support.
So what can we expect of Lenovo at IFA 2016?
If Tech World 2016 is any indication, Lenovo will continue to drive the motto of “Innovation Never Stops.” At Tech World, it unveiled the PHAB2 Pro, the world’s first consumer Tango-enabled smartphone, and the modular Moto Z family with the Moto Mods platform.
Several of Lenovo’s startup investment companies also showed promising concept innovations in AR, VR and biometrics.
I expect the Lenovo launch at IFA to be culmination of incredible product design, cutting edge tech and bold new concepts. I expect a focus on VR across the board, mobility and IoT.
