There’s a blatant rip-off of the Huawei P20 Pro with some clever tech of its own

Huawei’s stunning P20 Pro is barely a month old and already it has spawned a clone. Chinese serial clone artist LEAGOO has yet again unabashedly carbon copied a competitor, this time with a device called the LEAGOO S10.

Interestingly enough, the device features top specs including a purported top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 and what looks like an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Unsurprisingly, the S10 features a notch at the front, although considerably smaller than the P20 Pro it copies, perhaps more Essential Phone-like.

What you’ll notice is a triple camera setup on the rear, emulating the amazing P20 Pro. The key difference is the lack of Leica branding or involvement (duh), and the LED flash is located in between the top two cameras.

It is unclear what spec of cameras the S10 will carry at this point.

From the supplied key image, you’ll also find the S10 copying the Twilight blending treatment of the P20 Pro. Will it be as good though?

LEAGOO says that the S10 will be running either a Snapdragon 845 or the deca-core MediaTek Helio P60, so it’s pretty top notch, at least in the processing power department. Memory wise, it gets either a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage or 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option.

The display is said to be a 6-inch FHD+ unit.

No pricing and availability details yet, but the device will be revealed at its LEAGOO X event at the Hong Kong Global Sources Exhibition happening from 18-21 April 2018.

Leagoo S9 and S9 Pro

Besides the S10, the company is expected to launch other notch-ed devices, including the iPhone X-knock-off S9 and S9 Pro which pack a 6.18-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and MediaTek’s MT6763 SoC.

At MWC2018, Leagoo was first out of the gates with an Android notch display smartphone and it also featured the first-of-its-kind under-display fingerprint sensor.Leagoo X Source: SoyaCincau, Gizmochina
