The new Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones are stunning but none quite as head-turning as the “Twilight” colour variant. Launched in Malaysia earlier in the month, Huawei cheekily left the much-awaited colour off its line-up.
I’d say, good strategy. Judging on how well it sold in China at launch, even if Huawei decided not to bring in the colour to Malaysia, the new P series would still sell well.
When asked about “Twilight” during the press conference at launch, Huawei executives responded that they “may” bring in the colour option “if there’s demand for it.”
Right.
Well, it looks like they are going to bring blue-green-purple-I’m-not-sure-anymore colour in very soon.
Teasing on its official Facebook page with an outline of the P20 Pro and a Northern Lights-like background, the caption simply states, “It’s time.”
It’s undeniable that Twilight is quite something else, and Huawei has really done a great job of being different this time.
Aside from Twilight, the P20 and P20 Pro are offered in Pink Gold, Midnight Blue and Graphite Black.
The P20 sells for MYR2,599 while the P20 Pro retails at MYR3,299. The Twilight version will not carry a premium in price.
