Huawei is about to introduce a brand new smartphone, following the introduction of the selfie-centric nova 2 series. With the trend of dual-cameras (and more) hotting up, the tech giant is teasing multiple cameras for its new mid-range nova smartphone.
The teaser, which features an image of four reflected butterfly wings and a juxtaposed “#oooo” suggests four cameras—possibly dual-camera setups for both front and back.
Huawei first used the #oo hashtag to denote the dual-camera Leica setup of its groundbreaking Huawei P9.
Having said that, there’s no indication that the mid-range nova series will sport any form of Leica branding nor technology, but who’s to say at this point.
The nova 2 and the top-rung nova 2 Plus are Huawei’s mid-range devices to battle the likes of the selfie-centric OPPO R9s and vivo V5s devices. One may even argue, it goes head on with its sub-brand honor, especially with the likes of the honor 8, honor 8 Pro and honor 6X.
The nova 2 Plus retails at MYR1,999 in Malaysia, and comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device packs a massive 20MP front shooter, alongside the dual-camera 12MP + 8MP setup on the rear.
It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Kirin 659 CPU.
So… a nova 2 Pro, perhaps? Regardless, things are looking interesting, so do watch this space.
