After the Mate 9 Pro, the Huawei nova 2 Plus is next in line to get a price slash and other freebies. Launched in August, Huawei nova 2 Plus is now MYR300 cheaper than the original launch price of MYR1,999.
Other than that, buyers will also get a free 3 days 2 nights hotel stay worth MYR600, an original Huawei speaker and original Huawei 5,000mAh powerbank.
To jog your memory, the selfie-centric device comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1080×1920 pixels @ 401PPI) and runs on Huawei’s own Kirin 659 processor. It gets 4GB of RAM and a generous 128GB of onboard storage. But, if you still need more space, there is a micro-SD card slot which supports up to 256GB of additional storage.
Also, the nova 2 Plus comes with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Colour options for the nova 2 Plus are either Black, Blue or Gold.
The nova 2 Plus rocks a 12MP f/1.8 + 8MP main camera that’s capable of 2x optical zoom and portrait mode. However, the primary shooter doesn’t come with OIS. On the front, it gets a whopping 20MP selfie camera.
In terms of battery life, the nova 2 Plus comes with a 3,340mAh non-removable Li-Po battery, charged via a USB Type-C port. It supports fast charging by the way. Battery life can last up to two days with average use (one day if under heavy use).
If the MYR1,699 asking price is too high for your wallet, another alternative you might want to consider is the Huawei nova 2i. It boasts Huawei’s first quad-camera setup: a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup in the back as well as a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup for the front.
Another interesting fact about the nova 2i is the screen size–a FullView 5.99 inch display rocking a 18:9 screen ratio.
So, the choice is yours. Would you like to have more storage space or a fancy quad-camera setup?
