Huawei nova 2 Lite gets AR Lens and Pro Camera via OTA update

Huawei nova 2 Lite

Huawei continues to roll out new feature updates to its stable of devices, the latest being the entry-level nova 2 Lite. The latest OTA update, available now, brings AR Lens and Pro camera to the device.

AR Lens was introduced earlier this year and has since become one of the top features in the nova series. It allows you to overlay your selfies with interactive backgrounds or even celebrities you want to take photos with. Some animated backgrounds include London’s Big Ben, seaside, Germanic castle and shooting stars.

Pro Camera is for those who want finer controls to taking photos, allowing full control over composition, light exposure and shutter speed. Other controls include ISO adjustment, white balance, focus mode and metering mode.

With Pro Camera, you can also save images in RAW format, something quite rare these days on smartphones and especially not on non-flagship devices. RAW format allows you more control in post-processing as well as capturing more detail at the source.

First launched in March this year, the nova 2 Lite is the lowest-rung model in the mid-range nova family. It’s a follow up to the highly-popular nova 2i, rocking a 5.99-inch Full View HD display, a dual-camera system and running Android Oreo.

The super “bling-bling” device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A huge plus point is the triple card slot for dual-SIM and microSD cards.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei nova 2 Lite now retails for just MYR659, and is available in Black, Blue and Pink. You can purchase from all Huawei Experience Stores, telco partners Celcom and Maxis, or if you prefer to buy online, from the Huawei Official Store on Lazada and Vmall.

Buyers are entitled to a free giftbox that contains an earphone, selfie stick, iRing and smart bracelet worth MYR199.
