This is what the Huawei Mate 10 Pro looks like

It’s less than three weeks away from launch, but that hasn’t stopped leaks from flooding the interwebs (what else is new?). The Huawei Mate 10 and higher spec Mate 10 Pro can now be seen in full glory.

We of course, have @evleaks to thank, as per usual. Thanks, mate.

It’s no surprise that the Mate 10 Pro boasts an 18:9 FullView display, although it’s not the first Huawei device to do so. That goes to the recently launched Huawei nova 2i mid-ranger, that by the way, has four cameras.

With the Mate 10 Pro, you won’t get four cameras, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t cutting-edge. It sports a Leica-branded dual-camera setup with laser auto-focus and LED flash. Presumably, it will stick to a RGB + monochrome sensor.

What’s interesting is the Leica SUMMILUX-H f/1.6 aperture 27mm lens, the best so far on a Huawei device. The next best, on the Huawei P10 Plus has a SUMMILUX-H f/1.8 aperture lens.

Leaked promo materials have revealed that the Mate 10 Series will feature IP67 dust- and water-resistance, also a first with Huawei devices.

It will also pack a huge 4,000mAh battery that supports Huawei’s Super Charge rapid-charge technology.

The Mate 10 Series will presumably run the next-generation Kirin 970 chipset, which will boast some powerful AI features.

In terms of design, the exterior looks sleek, with a unique coloured band across its dual-camera setup on the back. At this point it’s hard to tell if the material build is glass or metal.

It does look pretty good, based on the leaked images.

Huawei has retained a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, so no fancy “under glass fingerprint scanner” technology. Which may be a good thing, at least for reliability and familiarity sakes.

The Huawei Mate 10 Series is slated for a 16 October launch.
