Ahead of its expected unveiling on 19 August in Tokyo, Japan, the new HTC J Butterfly, or likely to be known as HTC Butterfly 2, has been leaked. @upleaks released some press photos of the new device, tipped to hit the Asia Pacific markets.
The HTC J Butterfly has been available in the Japanese market since July, and the incoming HTC Butterfly 2 is claimed to have similar specs of its Japanese sibling – 5-inch Full HD LCD3 display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5Ghz, 2GB RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP rear camera with 2MP Duo Camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, iRDA and a set of front-facing BoomSound speakers with JBL LiveStage support.
The new device will also come with IP57 certification for water- and dust-resistance.
If the rumours ring true we should be getting a hands-on with the device at the HTC Frequencies Asia III event in Tokyo, running from 18-19 August.
It is understood that the device will not be released in the US or EMEA markets.
