We’re barely two weeks into the new year and Honor has wasted no time in churning out yet another new device for the Malaysian market. While we wait for the impending debut of the flagship View20, the Chinese smartphone maker is satisfying the needs of the everyday Malaysian consumer first, with the Honor 10 Lite. Honor also introduced the Honor Band 4 and Honor Band 4 Running, retailing at MYR149 and MYR79 respectively.
The Honor 10 Lite is a more affordable sibling of the stunning flagship Honor 10. Underneath its flashy exterior though, the Honor 10 Lite shares much of its underpinnings with the excellent Honor 8X.
The new device comes with a smaller 6.21-inch Full HD+ display (2340×1080) with a Dewdrop design that offers over 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.
It shares the same mid-range octa-core Kirin 710 processor with 3GB RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage. There’s microSD expansion via a hybrid card tray, supporting an additional 512GB of storage.
In the camera department, the Honor 10 Lite sports a 24MP AI front camera with f/2.0 aperture. AI enables it to recognise eight different scenarios and it also boasts 4-in-1 light fusion technology (pixel binning) for better performance in low light environments.
It packs a 13MP f/1.8 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-lens camera system with AI-powered image stabilisation (AIS). The camera also supports smart features including AI Shopping, AI Translation and AI Identify.
The phone comes with a large 3,400mAh battery that delivers a claimed 19 hours of 3G talktime, or up to 612 hours in standby time.
It comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and runs the latest Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0.1 out-of-the-box.
Pricing and availability
The Honor 10 Lite 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version is available in Midnight Black and Sky Blue, and retails for MYR749. Meanwhile the 3GB RAM + 64GB of RAM is available in Sapphire Blue and Shiny Red and will sell for MYR799.
The device will be available for purchase from hihonor.com/my and Honor Malaysia’s official store on Lazada, starting 9 January 2019 at 10AM.
For a limited time only, the Honor 10 Lite 32GB version will sell at a promo price of MYR699.
Purchases made before 1PM on Lazada will fulfilled on the same day. Note that there are limited slots of same-day delivery. For orders after 1PM, devices will be shipped out the next day.
