Google Maps now lets you “change your car”

Google Maps is making wayfinding a little more fun. With Waze being a Google company, it’s not surprising that features are borrowed and adopted across the two platforms. Here’s something new: Google Maps now allows you to swap out the boring blue navigation arrow for a new icon.

At the moment you can choose from a stylish red sedan, green pickup truck or a yellow SUV.

To get started, all you need to do is start navigating by searching for a destination. In navigation mode, tap on the blue navigation arrow and select the vehicle of your choice.

That’s it. A brand new car, just like that.

This feature is currently available on iOS only. Let’s hope Google ports it over to Android soon.
