The mobile game that has made the world go flappy all over – Flappy Bird, is coming to Windows Phone, according to its developer. The game has gone viral and has topped the charts on iOS. The Android version was released on January 30. To date, it has been downloaded over 50 million times.
The retro arcade-style game is reportedly raking in the big bucks for its Vietnamese developer, Dong Nguyen – some US$50,000 per day. Not too shabby for a game with a seemingly simple premise.
Nguyen tweeted, “I could estimate 10 days from now. It has to be approved by Microsoft.”
The game’s sudden popularity, having lingered in the App Store since May 2013, is a mystery, but could very well be due to its deceiving simplicity. Ok, in all honesty, it’s incredibly difficult.
After hundreds of attempts, I’ve yet to better my score of 23. Fun, no. Addictive, yes.
Nguyen has went on record to say that the game is easier to play on Android, and having played on both platforms I tend to agree.

Windows Phone users, are you as excited as I am about Flappy Bird coming to WP8? I can’t wait to play it on my Lumia 1520.
