Epson today fired its first salvo into the fashion and textile printing industry with the introduction of two roll-fed dye sublimation fabric printers – the 44-inch SureColor SC-F6070 and the 64-inch SureColor SC-F7070, as well as the SureColor SC-F2000 series, its first direct-to-garment (DTG) printers. Together with the launch, Epson also announced a collaboration with the Petaling Jaya College of Art & Design (PJCAD), where college students participate in activities that harness the capabilities of the new F-Series family of printers.
Yashuhiro Kasai, Country Manager, Epson Malaysia officiated the launch, graced by Shaun See, General Manager, Commercial & Industrial Printer Business Unit, Epson Singapore; Danny Lee, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Epson Malaysia; and Dickson Lee, Senior Manager, Commercial & Industrial Printing Business, Epson Malaysia. The digital imaging and printing giant’s foray into this new territory is part of its worldwide strategy to aggressively grow its commercial and industrial printer range, spearheaded by its proprietary MicroPiezo and PrecisionCore TFP head technology.
The new SureColor SC-F6070/7070 printers marks several milestones for Epson. Firstly, they are the first dye sublimation from Epson. Additionally, they are the first in the market which every component – from ink and print-head to printer chassis and bulk in delivery system, is designed and made by a single company. This translates to high performance with outstanding reliability and industrial-level production with high quality output of up to 1,440 x 720 dpi on all leading transfer papers.
Another milestone is set by the SureColor SC-F2000, wholly designed and developed using Epson’s proprietary technology – from its new PrecisionCore printhead to its UltraChrome DG ink, as well as pre-treatment liquid used in the process. With everything under one roof, the SC-F2000 enables t-shirt design and print services to excel in performance at low running costs.
The features and potential of the new SureColor F-Series fabric and DTG printers were put to the test in Epson’s collaboration with PJCAD. Fashion and graphic design students of PJCAD were tasked to express their creativity in a real-life working environment in the fashion and design industry. Students were engaged through contests like the Garment & Fabric Design Contest and T-shirt Design Contest.
Creations were printed with the SureColor SC-F2000 and were exhibited during the event, showcasing the creative potential of the new printer. The 44-inch SureColor SC-F6070 retails for RM26,188, while the 64-inch SureColor SC-F7070 is priced at RM71,500. Meanwhile, the SureColor SC-F2000 goes for RM71,500. Availability of all models is immediate.
