Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) today announced a collaboration with the IJN Foundation, enabling donors to easily channel donations to the foundation using PayNet’s growing DuitNow service.
To mark the special occasion, PayNet also donated a sum of MYR20,000 to the non-profit foundation that raises funds for less fortunate patients at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN).
With DuitNow, you can make donations to IJN Foundation using only the foundation’s company registration number.
“We are proud to be partnering with the IJN Foundation to utilise the incredible functionality and capability of DuitNow to further unlock Malaysia’s generosity. We truly believe that the greater ease in donating through DuitNow will help empower IJN Foundation with the funds it requires to help those who are truly in need,” said Khairuan Abdul, deputy director of Payment Network Malaysia.
Established in 1995, the IJN Foundation raise and manages public funds to assist patients’ surgery costs and welfare. At the same time, it assists IJN in its cutting-edge research, education and training.
The foundation revealed that it disburses MYR4 million annually under its Patient Assistance Programme to provide financial assistance to poor, needy and deserving heart patients to undergo surgery and treatment at the IJN. It expects this disbursement to rise to MYR7-8 million next year onwards. Since its inception it has provided medical or financial assistance to more than 2,000 needy patients, with more than 300 being paediatric patients.
“Thanks to the immense contributions of our donors, the IJN Foundation has managed to continuously push the boundaries of support for needy patients. As the cost of medical treatment continues to rise, these donations will become even more critical. Together with PayNet and through DuitNow, we are hopeful of rising to this challenge and completely breaking down those boundaries to deliver the quality care that each and every one of our patients deserve,” commented YM Raja Datin Seri Zuraida Raja Mansur, chairman of the social and welfare committee and member board of trustees of the IJN Foundation.
