Local group buying website Dealmates has overtaken global success Groupon in terms of website traffic for the month of September, propelling the site to second place in the local market., established in January 2011, is a joint venture between creative agency MindValley and media powerhouse Catcha Group.

Dealmates surpassed its target of doubling membership by end of 2011 and also tripling its subscription base since a significant investment agreement with Intel Capital, Intel‘s global investment organisation in August this year.

Popular Group Buying Website has climbed to 2nd place in the local market

Kuala Lumpur  – Dealmates, a popular group buying website, has emerged as a frontrunner in the increasingly competitive group buying space. According to internet marketing research company, comScore, Inc, Dealmates has overtaken Groupon in terms of website traffic, receiving 247, 000 unique visitors for the month of September. This key indicator has propelled the company’s position to 2nd place in the local market.

Since its debut in January 2011, Dealmates has seen an impressive trajectory of growth. This growth has been built on as well as the company’s ability to continuously adapt and innovate to reflect the needs of Malaysia’s local group buying market.

Having set a target of doubling their membership by the end of 2011, Dealmates has already surpassed that mark, more than tripling the company’s subscription base since signing a significant investment agreement with Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organisation in August of this year. The investment is currently being used to support Dealmates’ aggressive growth plans.

Over the next couple of months, Dealmates is expected to announce several key offerings such as mobile applications that will allow users the convenience of browsing deals and performing transactions directly from their mobile devices, as well as offering a further personalised experience.
