When Crysis first debuted, it was the benchmark for all PC gamers, at least to see whether your PC is the up to spec to play the latest games. If your PC can play Crysis, then you can play almost any games published for several years. Now, Crytek plans to bring back the good old days, for at least two years for starters with Crysis 3.
According to Crytek’s Chief, Cevat Yerli had a talk with VentureBeat on how he intends for nothing to beat the game for at least two years. Yes, you did not read it wrong. TWO YEARS.
“Crysis 3 on PC is going to be a benchmark experience for at least two years. When I see what’s happening on the PC market, and even what we do. The PC market is not going to grow vastly more before a lot of games catch up.”
“We had the same thing with the first Crysis on PC. When Crysis launched, it was the high-end benchmark for a good three years. I think Crysis 3 is going to do that again.”
– Crytek’s Chief, Cevat Yerli
Now, as we know Crysis 3 will be running on the new CryEngine 3 and will have some “raptors” and hunters being hunted. Let’s wait for it on February 19, 2013 (US) and February 22, 2013 (Europe).
P/S: Wait a minute, did Cevat Yerli say “Raptors”? Are there going to be Dinos now? Can’t wait for it! ~MOSES
