[CES 2017] LG Signature OLED TV W is the razor-thin, minimalist TV you’ll want on your wall

LG Signature OLED TV W

LG again stole the show at CES this year with its latest top-of-the-line LG Signature OLED TV W lineup of flat-panel TVs. The ten-model lineup, featuring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound, is headlined by the 2017 CES Best of Innovation Award winner – the 77-inch LG Signature OLED TV W.

The mouth-watering LG 2017 OLED TV lineup consists of models 77/65W7. 77/65G7, 65/55E7, 65/55C7 and 65/55B7. The OLED line-up boasts perfect blacks, infinite contrast and an expanded colour gamut.

Technical wizardry aside, LG’s OLED TV line-up feature the incredible blade-slim design of the B7 and C7 series; Picture-on-Glass design of the E7 and G7 series; and the Picture-on-Wall design of the W7 series.

The show-stealing W7 series is the epitome of “less is more.” Its razor-thin profile makes it appear like it’s levitating in mid-air. How thin? The OLED panel measures an astonishing 2.57mm thin (65-inch model). It’s so thin that you can mount the TV directly to the wall with only magnetic brackets.

And if cinematic immersion is what you’re looking for, then you can’t get better than Dolby Atmos. The atmospheric audio tech works seamlessly and effectively with the up-firing speakers.

LG says the design of the W7 series “invites the illusion of gazing out a window, not of watching TV.”

LG’s revolutionary pixel dimming control technology renders perfect black, without any light leakage. This means a limitless contrast ratio – that’s a whopping one billion possible colours. Additionally, LG’s latest lineup uses ULTRA Luminance technology to deliver greater brightness where needed.

HDR is a buzzword you’ve been hearing a lot when it comes to video and TV. Dolby Vision and HDR10 support is built in, offering greater brightness and contrast, and richer, true-to-life colours. The W7 series and all LG 2017 OLED TVs feature Active HDR.

Over 80 studio titles are compatible with Dolby Vision, and more than 100 titles are ready for Dolby Atmos. There’s currently over 100 hours of original content available in Dolby Vision across leading OTT providers worldwide. Some time in 2017, you’ll also have access to Dolby Vision titles on Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.

The new LG OLED TVs also embed cutting edge technology and colour science expertise from Technicolor.
