At its special media event themed ‘Let Us Loop You In,’ Apple introduced amongst other things: new watch bands for its Apple Watch. In attempt to entrench its position as the #1 smartwatch, it’s making the Apple Watch Sport more affordable, starting from US$299/MYR1,299. It also unveiled the new iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iOS 9.3 and tvOS.
First announced in September 2014, Apple’s first wearable finally shipped on 24 April 2015 in selected markets. Available in two sizes – 38mm and 42mm and in three collections – Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition, it has quickly taken the #1 spot in the smartwatch race.
The stylish watch introduced the ground-breaking Force Touch using its Taptic Engine, which later trickled down to the iPhone 6s as 3D Touch.
Apple’s most personal device yet comes in endless style choices and materials. Different band styles include Link Bracelet, Sport Band, Leather Loop, Classic Buckle, Modern Buckle and Milanese Loop. Go crazy, why don’t you.
Even more choice
And today, Apple introduces even more options. First, brand new colours for the Sport Band and Black Milanese Loop. There’s also the all-new Woven Nylon Band, with a unique four-layer construction.
The Apple Watch Sport gets a MYR300 drop in price, now starting from MYR1,299. This is even cheaper than available smartwatches from rival platforms like Android Wear and TizenOS.
Pricing and availability
The Apple Watch and new bands are available at the Apple Store, Apple Store Online and authorised Apple resellers.
