Apple has sent out press invites to a special event on October 22, where the new iPad line is expected to debut and possibly the new Mac Pro and an update on OS X Mavericks.
“We still have a lot to cover,” says the Apple invite and the Cupertino tech giant certainly does. The location of the special event will be Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, one of Apple’s favourite locations for big announcements.
The much-rumoured fifth generation iPad is expected to be thinner, lighter with colours similar to the new iPhone 5s – Silver, Gold and Space Gray. It is expected to run Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip. It is widely believed that Apple will introduce a new version of the popular iPad Smart Cover, as well.
Sonny Dickson has some astonishingly detailed images of the fifth-generation iPad casing and front panel.
The new iPad mini is rumoured to come finally, with a Retina display although it was recently believed that the smaller device has experienced problems in production and may not debut in numbers this year.
