Apple is now offering onsite repair services for customers in select cities, reports Macrumors. The onsite service option is available through Apple Authorised Service Provider Go Tech Services, enabling you to get repair work done on your iPhone at home or at your office.
Onsite repairs from Go Tech Services are available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, and Dallas. All you need to do is visit Apple’s Support site and initiate a device repair.
Where available, there will be a mention of an onsite option when you are scheduling a repair. Select “Go Tech Services” as the repair provider for the onsite option.
Note that there may be an additional onsite visit fee charged in addition to Go Tech Services’ standard repair cost. No details are available about the fees, though.
Apple offers onsite repairs for its enterprise customers via its AppleCare for Enterprise programme. However, none is available for consumers, until now.
Having an onsite service option is a great solution for those who can’t visit the nearest Apple Store or authorised repair shop.
Let’s hope Apple rolls this out in more cities and countries soon.
