Apple Clips update: Shoot yourself as a Memoji and Animoji

Apple Clips 2.1

Apple has just updated Clips, its free video creation app for iPhone and iPad. The new update now allows you to create personal video messages, slideshows, and mini movies with more personality than ever before. Animated stickers and emoji can now follow the movements of your face for super fun selfie videos. The update also includes all-new stickers featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse as well as a new winter-themed poster, just in time for the coming holidays!

The new Clips let you use Memoji that you’ve created in the Messages app. You can layer your Animoji and Memoji video clips with your favourite artistic filters, animated text, music, sticker, and more.

The cool thing is that Animoji characters can be changed in a video even after it’s already recorded.

When you use the front-facing camera on the iPhone and iPad, animated stickers and emoji follow the movements of your face—whether you’re moving up and down, left and right, elements like sunglasses and speech bubbles stay connected to your face; making videos even more interactive and fun.

The update also includes a “Let it Snow” poster that beautifully captures the feeling of winter weather. Also, seven new Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse stickers, as well as support for right-to-left languages including Arabic and Hebrew.

The Clips app includes more than 60 soundtracks that automatically adjusts to match the length of your videos.

Clips 2.1 is available as a free update on the App Store and is compatible with iPhone 6s and iPhone SE or later, iPad Air 2 or later and iPod touch (7th generation), running iOS 13 or later, and iPadOS 13 or later.

Note that the new Animoji and Memoji features, as well as Selfie Scenes features, require iPhone or iPad Pro with TrueDepth camera.
