Here’s how much the new iPad Pro costs in Malaysia

Apple 2018 iPad Pro

Apple unveiled the latest iPad Pro alongside the refreshed MacBook Air and Mac mini on Tuesday. The updated tablet features an all-new design with an all-screen Liquid Retina display, blazing fast internals, TrueDepth camera with Face ID and a new Apple Pencil. Malaysians do not have to wait long as the new pro tablet is available for pre-order now, and will be in retail channels starting Wednesday, 7 November 2018.

As a quick refresher, the iPad Pro offers two display sizes: 11-inch and 12.9-inch. Apple did some pixel-level mastery with the LCD-based Liquid Retina display giving it rounded edges to minimise the bezels all round. The display pushes 2388×1668 resolution @ 264PPI.

Out comes the Home button (and with it Touch ID) for the very first time, and in comes a TrueDepth camera with that enables Face ID authentication as well as Animoji and Memoji. In case you were wondering, no there is no notch. Face ID works in any orientation, by the way.

Apple 2018 iPad ProThe new iPad Pro is 15 percent thinner and 25 percent less volume than the previous generation. Design-wise it’s now more iPhone 5-esque as opposed to the rounder iPad form factor of before.

Under the hood, the tablet gets the powerful Apple A12X Bionic chip that has an 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU. It delivers 35 percent faster single core performance and 90 percent faster for multi-core tasks. For the first time, the iPad Pro also gets an integrated Neural Engine.

Apple 2018 iPad ProThe Apple Pencil is now drastically different. It no longer needs to be awkwardly charged via a Lightning Port. It now attaches to the side of the iPad Pro magnetically, and automatically charges up, too.

Apple is pushing for the iPad Pro to be a Mac replacement, and as powerful as they are even more now, the price points are hitting MacBook Pro levels. It will highly depend on the kind work that you do. If it’s digital illustration, painting, photo-editing, then the iPad Pro may be a viable option.
