AMD has made available the AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card in Malaysia. Priced at RM899, it is the latest addition to the award-winning AMD Radeon R9 Series GPUs recently released. Enthusiast and hardcore gamers alike now have the AMD Radeon R9 270X, R9 280X, R90 and R9 290X graphic cards to choose from.
The AMD Radeon R9 270 is ideal for playing games with 1080p resolution on high settings. It features a single power connector and a 150W TDP which is ideal for users with longer upgrade cycles, looking to squeeze a little more life out of their current gaming rig.
The new GPU is based on AMD’s award-winning Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, and further enhanced by Mantle, the industry-acclaimed technology to enable game developers to harness GCN-powered cores of both PCs and consoles making development easier, faster and enhancing hardware optimisation.

What we think
This seems like a very viable upgrade path for my entry-level AMD A10-68K-based gaming rig at home, currently powered by a 1GB Radeon HD 5850. I may just take the leap and grab this from the store soon. Stay tuned.
