Huawei has kicked off a consumer campaign called ‘Finding Huawei’, offering over RM2.5 million in prizes and gifts over a 3-month period to welcome the year-end festivities and also to thank the support of its Malaysian customers. There will be two main parts to the campaign covering both online and in-store promotions.
The first contest runs from 16 November to 15 December 2013. It will run on the Huawei Device Malaysia Facebook page and will comprise two contests to win daily, weekly and monthly prizes. Participants need to find and take a photo of a Huawei product or image which must then be posted on the contest announcement wall together with a creative slogan.
Prizes include shopping vouchers and Huawei smartphones. Three monthly prizes in a form of travel vouchers worth RM10,000 each will be up for grabs.
The second contest will run from 16 December 2013 to 14 February 2014 will challenge participants’ attention to detail with a ‘Spot the Difference’ task between two images, in addition to completing a slogan.
Winners will be selected based on the most creative photo submitted or most creative slogan from all eligible entries. Daily winners will bring home shopping vouchers worth RM100 each, and weekly winners will walk away with a Huawei Ascend P6 or Huawei Ascend Mate each.
To reward current and future customers of Huawei products, Huawei is giving customers a chance to win one of the three monthly prizes. All they need to do is submit their IMEI number for verification. This is valid for purchases between 1 January 2013 and 14 February 2014 and covers selected Huawei smartphone models.

The campaign is to extend brand awareness of the Huawei brand in Malaysia – from smartphones to mobile home devices. Having already a strong presence in the local telecommunications network industry, Huawei has made positive in-roads in the smartphone and tablet market, now currently the #3 smartphone vendor in the world.
In addition to the kick-off of the consumer campaign, Huawei also introduced the new Huawei Ascend G700 to the Malaysian market – a mid-range smartphone that packs a 5-inch HD IPS display, 8MP rear camera, 1.2Ghz quad-core MediaTek chip and 2GB RAM. The Ascend GS700 runs Android 4.2 with Huawei’s Emotion UI. It ships for RM899 (SRP) and is available from all authorised Huawei dealers nationwide.
