The premium spectrum of the entry- and medium-level smartphone market is a growing and increasingly getting crowded. Alcatel has launched a jam-packed smartphone called the OneTouch Idol X.
The OneTouch Idol X is a sleek Android smartphone sporting a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution @ 441PPI) edge-to-edge display. The device is ultra-compact, with a side profile of just 6.9mm and weighs just 120g. The zero bezel design maximises content display, and the full lamination technology ensures no air gap between LCD and touch panel. This translates to better performance under sun light and in the dark.
The new flagship is powered by a quad-core 1.5Ghz processor, and packed with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (upgradable to up to 32GB via microSD).
The OneTouch Idol X also impresses with its optics, sporting a 13MP main shooter and 2MP front camera. Alcatel has integrated some camera effects and lenses like Emotishots, Super Macro Lens, Blue Glass Lens and the usual panorama, HDR, night modes to boot.
The device runs Android 4.2 out of the box and is a dual-SIM device.
