At Computex Taiwan 2016, Acer announced two 10-inch 2-in-1 notebooks – the Acer Switch V 10 and Switch One 10 – designed for students and the budget-conscious.
After the reveal of the delicious Switch Alpha 12 recently, the budget Switch V 10 and Switch One 10 are full featured notebooks that transform into a tablet.
Both devices are powered by the latest quad-core Intel Atom processors, and run Windows 10. They feature 10-inch IPS displays for the best viewing angles.
The award-winning Acer Snap Hinge latch-less magnetic hinge design enables the devices to transform into four usage modes – notebook, pad, tent and display.
Acer Switch V 10: 2-in-1 goodness on a budget
The Switch V 10 is available with metal covers in eye-catching colours – Pear White, Shale Black, Coral Red, Peacock Blue and Navy Blue. Built for students and young professionals, it delivers fast data transfer, high-resolution video output and fast charging via USB Type-C.
The 10-inch touch panel is protected by antimicrobial Gorilla Glass, that comes with a special antimicrobial agent to protect the glass surface from odour and stains caused by micro-organisms.
The device has a built-in fingerprint reader that lets you log in via Windows Hello. Wireless connectivity is fast with dual-band MIMO 802.11ac, which is 3x faster than 802.11n.
The Switch V 10 is available in 32GB and 64GB storage configurations, and if you need more you can pair it with a functional keyboard dock that adds another 500GB of HDD storage as well as two extra USB Type-A port. If you don’t need the ports, you can opt for a slim keyboard dock for portability.
Acer Switch One 10: Flexible 2-in-1
The Switch One 10 comes in a dark grey brushed-metal cover, the only colour option. The keyboard easily detaches to transform it into a tablet. It’s a great all-round tablet for the family.
Pricing and availability
The Switch V 10 will be available in North America in Q3, starting at US$249/MYR1,029; in EMEA in September; and in China in August starting at RMB2,599.
The Switch One 10 on the other hand will be available in North America in July, for US$199/MYR823 ; EMEA in July at 249euros; and China in September starting at RMB2,299.
