Acer Predator wins big at iF Design Awards 2018

Acer iF Design Awards 2018

Acer continues to be recognised for its design excellence, as it picks up 12 awards at the iF Design Awards 2018. The Predator range swept six awards, while the Taiwanese tech giant also garnered awards for its Acer Swift 7 notebook, Aspire S 24 AIO desktop, VG0 series gaming monitor, Holo360 and Vision360 cameras; and the Pawbo Wagtag pet tracker.

The winning Predator range included the Orion 9000 Gaming Desktop, Triton 700 Gaming Notebook, Predator X27 Gaming Monitor, Predator X34P Gaming Monitor, PredatorSense software as well as Predator Gaming gadget packaging.

It is the first time that designs for the Predator gaming devices delivered awards for the brand.

The iF Design Award is organised by the world’s oldest independent design organisation, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH. It comprises a 63-member jury, made up of independent experts from around the world. They judged over 6,400 entries from 54 countries.

Predator Orion 9000

The sizzler of a gaming desktop—the Predator Orion 9000 was first introduced at IFA 2017. Right off the bat, the Predator Orion 9000 was designed to strike fear to its enemies. The black-and-silver spacecraft-like design is bold, and internally it screams hardcore. Featuring up to an Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition with 18 cores, up to AMD Radeon RX Vega and boasting Acer’s IceTunnel 2.0 technology and liquid cooling, the gaming desktop is a beast. And that might be an understatement.

Predator Triton 700

The Predator Triton 700 is a powerful gaming notebook with an edgy design and black chassis. While packing desktop-beating internals, it’s body is considerably svelte at 18.9mm, and tipping the scales at 2.6kg. The aluminium chassis houses a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, and it boasts best-in-class gaming hardware.

Predator X27

The ultra high-definition Predator X27 gaming monitor boasts 4K (3840×2160) resolution at a 144Hz refresh rate, 4ms response time and 1,000-nit peak brightness with HDR. Its design is signature Predator—edgy coupled with a chiselled diamond-cut, all-metal stand.

Predator X34P

For gamers who want a more immersive visual experience, the Predator X34P series monitor delivers a curved, panoramic 1900R view, with a beautiful ZeroFrame design.

PredatorSense

PredatorSense is the central interface for gamers to control and optimise their Predator devices. This includes CPU and GPU usage, customising hotkeys, overclocking, adjusting keyboard backlight and accent light settings, and more.

Predator Gaming gadget packaging

The Predator Gaming range features a hexagonal geometric structure for packaging which synergises with the essence of the Predator brand. Much more than just looks, the packaging is also functional. For example, the packaging of the Predator Galea 500 headset can be used as a headset mount.

Acer Swift 7

The super thin Acer Swift 7 is just 8.98mm at its thinnest, but it’s certainly not thin when it comes with features and specs. Running Windows 10, it features blazing fast, built-in Intel XMM 4G LTE connectivity.

Acer Aspire S 24

The Acer Aspire S 24 all-in-one desktop is Acer’s thinnest ever, with the display’s side profile measuring just 5.97mm. The beautiful borderless display with black and matte gold colour exudes elegance and luxury.

Acer VG0 Gaming Monitor

The Acer VG0 may be an entry-level gaming monitor, but it doesn’t compromise on colour accuracy nor performance. The IPS panel delivers high colour accuracy, great for work and play. It boasts refresh rates of up to 144Hz and Visual Response Boost technology (VRB).

Acer 360-degree cameras

The Acer Holo360 camera is a connected camera that enables you to stitch videos in real-time. With integrate LTE connectivity and a 3-inch touchscreen, it’s a great all-in-one solution for shooting and livestreaming 360-degree videos.

The Acer Vision360 on the other hand, is an in-car camera that captures 360-degree video.

Pet Tracker

The Pawbo Wagtag provides real-time tracking for pets in both indoor and outdoor environments. It also boasts unique features such as bark detection.
