Acer’s most bad-ass gaming notebook – the Predator Helios 500 – has breached Malaysian airspace. The beast headlined new additions to the Predator gaming line which includes the powerful Orion 5000 gaming desktop, Acer Nitro gaming desktop and notebook, and mouth-watering Predator X27 gaming monitor and Predator accessories.
Predator Helios 500
If there was a thing as the ultimate gaming notebook, this could be it. Rocking up to an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, up to 8th Gen Intel Core i9 processors, and up to a whopping 64GB of memory, the Predator Helios snarls as it thunders through graphics-intensive AAA titles.
It sports an expansive 17.3-inch FHD IPS display boasting 300 nits, 144Hz refresh rates and NVIDIA G-Sync technology for silky smooth, tear-free gameplay.
The notebook keeps super cool with Acer’s dual-fan AeroBlade 3D metal fans and five heat pipes.
It comes preloaded with PredatorSense, the control centre that lets you monitor, control and customise all aspects of the Predator experience including overclocking, lighting, hotkeys, temperature and fan control.
Connectivity-wise, it features Killer Doubleshot Pro Gigabit Internet connection and Bluetooth 5.0.

Predator Orion 5000
Remember the sizzling 18-core Predator Orion 9000 gaming desktop Acer launched at IFA 2017? Well, the Predator Orion 5000 takes all the goodness of its menacing sibling and packages it into a more accessible suite.
Under the black and silver spacecraft-like chassis is the 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 processor, with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU.
The gaming desktop keeps uber cool thanks to Acer’s IceTunnel 2.0 that smartly separates different thermal zones of the system into individual airflow tunnels to expel heat.
Additionally, the front mesh panel with dust filters allows the system to inhale massive amounts of air while keeping things dust-free.
Like the Orion 9000, the chassis was made for easy-access and easy-upgrades with tool-less side panels. The massive, transparent side window panel showcases its powerful internals while keeping electromagnetic interference (EMI) levels in check.
The Predator Orion 500 comes with a Predator USB Flare keyboard and mouse.
It’s priced at MYR7,899 and will be available starting mid-July at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorized resellers nationwide.
Predator X27 Gaming Monitor
The 27-inch Predator X27 Gaming Monitor boasts Quantum Dot technology that offers higher brightness, higher saturation, contrast and better accuracy, supporting 99 percent of the Adobe RGB space. It also supports NVIDIA G-Sync for tear-free gameplay.
The gaming monitor doesn’t just look the business, it really does mean business. The specs tell it all – 4K (3840×2160) resolution, lightning-fast 144Hz refresh rate, 4ms response time and 1,000 nits peak brightness.
It offers ultimate contrast and dynamic range thanks to HDR Ultra technology. There’s advanced LED local dimming in 384 individually-controlled zones that light up only when and where it is required.
Viewing angles are excellent – 178 degrees – as expected from the IPS panel. Additionally, the monitor features a built-in ambient light sensor that helps the panel automatically adjust brightness according to the brightness of the environment.
Predator GameView offers custom game modes so gamers can easily switch settings according to the type of games they play – Action, Racing, and Sports. These modes can be accessed through a hotkey or On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
Acer Nitro 5 notebook
For more mainstream and casual gamers, the Nitro range offers uncompromised performance on a budget.
The Acer Nitro 5 is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB RAM, 16GB of Intel Optane memory and offers 1TB of HDD of storage.
The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display is complemented by immersive audio offered by Dolby Audio and Acer TrueHarmony technology.
Keeping things cool is Acer Coolboost technology that features dual fans. Gamers can manually control cooling performance with the built-in NitroSense application.
The Acer Nitro 5 retails for MYR3,999 and will be available from 1 July 2018 at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorized resellers nationwide.
Acer Nitro 50 Desktop
Whether you like Battle Royale- or MMORPG-type games, the Acer Nitro 50 gaming desktop will take it all in stride. And why not? Underneath its compact chassis is an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor coupled with 8GB of DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 64GB) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 for smooth, uncompromising gameplay.
It will deliver 4K resolution visuals and is capable of powering up to four displays simultaneously.
It comes with up to 1TB of HDD and 128GB of SSD storage.
A unique feature is the optional wireless charging deck that supports wireless charging for any Qi-enabled device.
The Acer Nitro 50 is priced at MYR4,239 and comes with a bundled Acer wireless keyboard and mouse, and will be available at the end of July at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorized resellers nationwide.
Predator Aethon 500 Keyboard
Last but not least, Acer has added the Predator Aethon 500 keyboard to its dedicated gaming family. The extra-durable mechanical keyboard has a lifespan of 70 million strokes per key.
It supports individual key customization with up to 16.8 million possible colours, managed by the PredatorQuatermaster application.
The Predator Aethon 500 keyboard retails for MYR739 and is available now at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorised resellers nationwide.
