The shiny Moto X4 has IP68 rating, smart dual-cameras and premium build

Moto X4

The Moto G5s Plus may be the perfect choice for an affordable premium smartphone. But, Moto has another trump card up its sleeve: Moto X4. Armed with powerful cameras and some advanced software wizardry, the Moto X4 ensures you capture the best photos regardless if you’re using the dual rear cameras, or big selfie shooter.

The Moto X4 is impeccably crafted, featuring a shiny all-metal body that’s now IP68-rated dust- and water-resistant. It’s slightly lighter than the Moto G5s Plus at 163g, and measures 7.99mm at its thinnest point.

Under the hood, it packs a power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It has microSD support so upgrading storage is a cinch.

It features a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Moto X4

The Moto X4 is all about its smart camera. The main shooter is a dual 12MP f/2.0 shooter with dual auto-focus pixel sensor, and large 1.4um pixel size, and a secondary 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle with 120-degree field of view sensor.

On the front, it rocks an 16MP wide-angle camera with f/2.0 aperture and selfie flash. It boasts a 4MP adaptive low light mode and professional mode, so expect great selfies even in low light conditions.

What’s cool is that it comes with a new Landmark Detection feature that lets you just point to a point of interest, and it will prompt you if you want to learn more about what you’re seeing.

Additionally, it can scan a business card and quickly add the info into your contact.

The selfie camera on the other hand now comes with Face Filters, which can add animations and effects to your photos or videos without using a separate app.

The Moto X4 comes with a large 3,000mAh battery that is claimed to last the entire day. If you do find yourself low on juice however, the device supports TurboPower where a 15 minutes charge can give you additional six hours of power.

Other interesting software features include a new wireless sound system that lets you connect up to four Bluetooth audio devices simultaneously. You can use your Moto X4 to manage and control them.

There’s also Moto Key that allows you to log-in to your favourite password-secured website with your fingerprint securely and quickly.

The Moto X4 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and will get Android Oreo in due time.
