Lenovo unleashes world’s first gaming desktop with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

Lenovo ideacentre Y900

At Computex Taipei 2016, Lenovo has launched the ideacentre Y900, claimed to be the first gaming desktop with the trailblazer NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU. The top-of-the-line gaming desktop also houses up to a quad-core 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and convenient upgradability. The new GeForce GTX 1080 is the first gaming GPU based on NVIDIA’s new Pascal architecture.

The NVIDIA GTX 1080 is the most bad-ass GPU at the show, with power to deliver 2x the performance and 3x the efficiency of a GeForce GTX TITAN X. In other words, it’s mind-blowingly powerful.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

It runs at clocks speeds in access of 1700MHz, while consuming just 180W of power. More memory bandwidth (320GB/sec) and better power efficiency means it will handle the most demanding gaming technologies, such as VR.

It also packs 8GB GDDR5X VRAM with memory speeds rocking 10Gbps. It’s G-SYNC-ready, VR-ready, and supports NVIDIA SLI.

If 4K gaming is your thing, this baby will give you virtually maximum quality visuals. In fact, a game like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gets a boost of up to 82.8%! (compared to GeForce GTX 980 at SMAA T2x).

You can easily hook up to multiple Full HD VA curved gaming displays like the Lenovo Y27g Curved Gaming Monitor for panoramic, silky smooth gameplay.

OK, stop salivating.

Pricing and availability

The Lenovo ideacentre Y900 premium gaming desktop with optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 starts at US$1,899/MYR7,849 and will be available starting June, 2016.
