Samsung Galaxy S7 is now in Malaysia

Samsung Galaxy S7

It’s no surprise that Samsung chose to introduce the Galaxy S7 edge to the Malaysian market first. The unique dual curve edge display sets it apart from any other phone in the market. For those who want something slightly more conventional-looking though, Samsung is finally bringing in the Galaxy S7.

Same, same but different

Featuring the same stunning metal and glass finish, the Galaxy S7 comes in Gold, Silver and Black. The Galaxy S7 comes in slightly thicker at 7.9mm thick, but it’s slightly lighter at 152g. Like its curved edge sibling, it boasts IP68 dust- and water-resistance certification.

The Galaxy S7 gets a smaller 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display (@ 577PPI) as opposed to the edge’s 5.5-incher.

Internally, they’re absolutely identical. It gets the blazing fast Exynos 8890 octa-core processor mated to an Adreno 530 GPU. It gets 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of storage. In terms of raw performance, the Exynos is one of the fastest SoCs in the market right now.

The best camera

In the optics department, here’s where the Galaxy S7 whips the competition. It packs the stunning 12MP Dual Pixel f/1.7 main shooter that comes with OIS, PDAF. It boasts bigger 1.4 pixel size, and on the front an equally impressive 5MP f/1.7 selfie camera.

It’s an amazing camera. No doubt about it. The best in the market today.

Keeping it juiced is a 3,000mAh battery, which is 600mAh less than the S7 edge. Fret not, both feature quick charging and wireless charging.

The Galaxy S7 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and Samsung’s TouchWIZ on top.
