Celcom FIRST Platinum postpaid plan goes official – 18GB of data for MYR150/month

Celcom FIRST Platinum plan

As prematurely leaked yesterday, Celcom has expanded its portfolio of postpaid plans, now with FIRST Platinum. The new plan offers a whopping 18GB of monthly data quota and exclusive access to Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge.

The FIRST Platinum plan is Celcom’s range topping plan, tailored for data hungry users and premium customers. As a summary, it now has the FIRST Blue entry level plan (MYR45/month); mid-tier and highly popular FIRST Gold plan (MYR80/month); and now FIRST Platinum.

For data lovers

Data-hungry users will certainly appreciate the generous 18GB data allocation in FIRST Platinum. Do note though, it’s really a 9GB + 9GB plan that splits the first 9GB for all-time use, and balance 9GB split over weekends. This is the same structure that is used on its aforementioned FIRST postpaid plans.

Essentially, you’ll enjoy 2.25GB of data quota every weekend.

Additionally, Celcom is throwing in 9GB of complimentary WiFiPlus although I wish you good luck in finding Celcom Wi-Fi hotspots around.

The great thing about Celcom’s postpaid plans though is that unused data can be carried forward to the next month (up to 9GB of all-day quota).

If you so happen to use up all your 18GB (that’s a lot of data, people), you can ‘Max Up’ 1GB at MYR20. For customers spending MYR225 and above, Celcom will throw in 1GB of extra data. Meanwhile, for those hitting MYR500 and above, they’ll receive 2GB of free data.

FIRST Platinum customers will of course enjoy unlimited calls and text to all networks.

Perks to get you perky

For travelers, Celcom’s just announced Wonderoam offers a worry-free experience at MYR38/day. There’s a MYR138 weekly plan that comes with 3GB data, unlimited calls and text. Roaming (1-day plan) is supported in 165 countries with access to two partner telcos for greater accessibility. The weekly plan is supported in 10 countries. Visit here for a full list of supported countries.

Talking about travel, FIRST Platinum subscribers will get exclusive access to Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge at KLIA. Enjoy complimentary facilities in the Business Class section of the lounge. This is valid for one time use, via a voucher. The voucher can be requested here. It’s valid for seven days from date of issue.

That’s not all the perks though. You’ll get unlimited music access with Yonder Music, iflix and secured communications with Zipit Chat. These are valid for 12-months.

You’ll also get personalized customer service for dedicated assistance at any time. Just dial 1881.

The ultimate high-end plan?

Note that there’s no contract commitment, and Celcom is also offering and extended credit limit of MYR1,000 and extended payment of 45 days.

The Celcom FIRST Platinum plan does indeed look like a killer plan for those looking for a high-end features. For those with a moderate budget, at MYR80/month, FIRST Gold still offers the best bang for buck.
