MaxisONE Home Fibre now gives you up to 100Mbps and Maxperts

MaxisONE Home Fibre

Looks like the telcos aren’t just battling it out intensely on the mobile front – it’s starting to heat up in the fibre broadband front too. With TIME Fibre upping the game to 500Mbps (albeit with limited coverage), competitors are forced to show their ‘A’ game. Maxis today unveiled its new MaxisONE Home Fibre broadband plans, and then some.

MaxisONE Home Fibre

In a nutshell, the new fibre broadband plan is called MaxisONE Home Fibre. It looks like Maxis is focused on consolidating its products under one brand – MaxisONE.

If you recall, MaxisONE customers get discounts off their Maxis Home Fibre subscriptions, as well as other perks like Spotify Premium, unlimited calls/text and MaxisONE World roaming.

Packages available include 20Mbps, 30Mbps and 100Mbps. The ‘new’ packages will offer unlimited data quota, unlimited free calls (ON-Net), RM30 worth of calls to all local networks.

Speeds are symmetrical, so you’ll be getting the same fast internet whether you’re downloading or uploading.

The packages cost MYR198, MYR270 and MYR330 respectively. MaxisONE customers, however, get discounts on the plans – at MYR170, MYR220 and MYR330 respectively.

Note that the MaxisONE Home 100Mbps plan is exclusive to MaxisONE plan 158, 188; and MaxisONE Business and MaxisONE Business Extra subscribers only.

Maxis Home Fibre is currently priced at MYR148 (10Mbps), MYR198 (20Mbps), MYR248 (30Mbps) and MYR398 (100Mbps), and will remain available for non-MaxisONE subscribers.

Introducing Maxperts

While the MaxisONE Home Fibre plan doesn’t really bring anything new to the plate, Maxis is introducing something else as a value-added perk – Maxperts. Maxperts is Maxis’ own team of certified installers to help customers with installation at home.

They’re responsible to evaluate and optimize your internet connection at home. While this sounds like a level of service you should be expected whether you’re on Maxis, TIME or TM Unifi, perhaps Maxperts will give you added peace of mind.

Maxperts will help you optimise your Wi-Fi connection at home (and will recommend if you need a Wi-Fi repeater, etc) so that you can best enjoy your fibre broadband connection.

Note that Maxperts are applicable to new customers, as it involves the initial installation at your home. Maxpert service costs MYR188, but is waived for new MaxisONE Home customers.

For starters, there will be a total of 32 Maxpert 3-man teams all over the country, and this number will increase as demand grows.

It’s about customer service

It looks like Maxis is ‘walking the talk’ when it comes to customer service. Aside from the Maxperts, MaxisONE Home offers an ‘On time every time promise’ of 99.99% for installations, 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee (30 days), and 24/7 customer support.

Maxis fibre network coverage

Maxis’ fibre network, as you know, rides on both TM’s and its own fibre backbone. It currently serves over 1.9 million customers nationwide. Maxis’ own network reaches 75,000 premises nationwide.

Maxis said this will grow in time, and more value-added features will be integrated to MaxisONE in the near future.

Will we see a bundling of Netflix and iflix subscriptions soon?

A better fibre broadband?
