Affordable, clean water

Expanding its portfolio of products, Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi Water Purifier, a minimalist, well-built home water purifier based on reverse osmosis technology.

Reverse osmosis works by applying pressure through a RO membrane to separate purified water from tap water. RO technology is generally used for bottled pure water purification, desalination and medical water. The Mi Water Purifier uses a four-step RO filtration process.

Mi Water Purifier

The Mi Water Purifier can purify up to 76 barrels of water per day.

Being a Xiaomi product, it is a smart device, and internet-connected. The water filter unit can be monitored using the Mi Home app which allows you to check real-time filter effectiveness and also remind you when it is time to change filters. You can also order new filters directly within the app.

Mi Water Purifier

The Mi Water Purifier retails at RMB1,299 (US$209).

There’s no word if either products will reach Malaysian shores at this point.
