The uber affordable ASUS ZenFone 4 (A400CG) smartphone is all set to embrace the cuddly arms of Android 4.4 KitKat. The Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) update version (V6.5.27-20141001) will be available in batches.

If haven’t been pushed an update notification on your ZenFone 4 device, you can manually check in Settings > System > About > System Update.

Take note that this latest update is only applicable to ZenFone 4 original units – distributed by ASUS Malaysia authorised distributors.

The ASUS ZenFone 4 was announced alongside the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 back in April, redefining the budget smartphone category.

It sports a 4-inch display, swappable back covers and supports expandable storage of up to 64GB via microSD. It uses the Intel Atom Z2520 (1.2Ghz) SoC and comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

The ZenFone 4 is priced at just RM299. Available colours are Cherry Red, Pearl White and Charcoal Black.
