Apple’s latest and greatest smartphones – the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available to pre-order from telcos around the world and the Apple Online Store today.

According to CNET, Verizon and AT&T kicked off pre-orders at midnight, Friday (12 September) but Sprint and T-Mobile sites were still down as of 12.45AM. The last we check, the Apple Online Store is still down. Customers can however purchase the iPhone through Apple’s iOS store app.

The two flagship models will also be available from US Cellular, as well as physical stores like Best Buy, RadioShack, Target and Walmart.

The iPhone 6 goes on sale officially on 19 September, in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

CNET was inaccurate, however, to state that the phone will be available in 115 countries starting on 19 September. This will only happen towards end of the year.

Malaysia, as usual, occupies third tier in Apple’s books together with Mozambique, so don’t expect to see the new phones until the December timeframe.

Closer to home, Singapore telcos have started pre-orders today. M1 is offering the 16GB iPhone 6 for S$645 under its Lite plan which ties subscribers at S$28 per month.

Singtel has also revealed their iPhone 6 plans, while rival StarHub closed their iPhone 6 registration of interest page today.

Apple said a no-contract iPhone 6 will retail in Singapore start from S$988 (16GB iPhone 6) while the 16GB iPhone 6 Plus will start at S$1,148.

Several reports have said that the iPhone 6 Plus may have low stock on the ground.

iPhone 6 comes in gold, silver or space gray, and will be available in the US for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) for the 16GB model, $299 (US) for the 64GB model and the top end 128GB model for $399 (US) with a two-year contract.

iPhone 6 Plus comes in gold, silver or space gray, and will be available in the US for a suggested retail price of $299 (US) for the 16GB model, $399 (US) for the 64GB model and $499 (US) for the new 128GB model with a two-year contract.
