OPPO Electronics Corp (“OPPO”) yesterday debuted its flagship Find 7 series smartphone in Malaysia – the first 4G LTE device from the China mobile maker. The Find 7 made quite an impression when it was introduced in March, in Beijing.

After the OPPO N1 launch alongside the Find 5 Mini, R1 and OPPO Neo, the Find 7 continues to raise the bar in design, mobile technology and user experience.

Packed with tech

With the Find 7, the ultra-high resolution 5.5-inch qHD IPS display (2560 x 1440 @ 538PPI) makes a debut, the world’s smallest 2K display.

The remarkable display is paired with Touch-on-Lens technology with Gorilla Glass 3 that sees 40% improvement is strength. We call it piece of mind.

The display is housed in a solid titanium-aluminium alloy frame, coloured Midnight or White. The Find 7 weighs just 173g and measures 152.6 x 75 x 9.2mm.

A much-touted feature is the 13MP main camera with Pure Image 2.0 technology – a hardware and software solution that enhances images to 50MP images. The heart of it all is six physical lenses, the latest Sony Stacked CMOS IMX214 sensor (also on the Xperia Z2) and f2/0 wide aperture.

Another key innovation is the OPPO-developed VOOC fast charge technology that shortens charging time, boosting the phone’s battery life to 75% within 30 minutes. Additionally, it features 5 layers of safety that ensures safe charging, without overheating. Amazing stuff.

The integrated battery is rated at 3,000mAh.

Award-wining MaxxAudio audio enhancement technology is built-in, a feature certainly to impress audiophiles on the go.

The Find 7 also packs multi-band 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, GPS and a plethora of sensors.

Powering the Find 7 is the superfast Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor running at 2.5Ghz, coupled with Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB RAM. Outstanding performance, guaranteed. Storage is 32GB.

Find 7 runs ColorOS 1.2.0 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Find 7a: The younger sibling

The Find 7a looks glaringly similar to the higher-end Find 7, minus the qHD display (instead a Full HD IPS), slightly slower Snapdragon 801 2.3Ghz processor and 2GB RAM. Storage is 16GB RAM.

Pricing and availability

The Find 7 and Find 7a are available at all OPPO retail outlets at the price of RM1,998 and RM1,598 respectively. The Find 7a is available now, while the Find 7 will be available nationwide at the end of June.
