Lenovo Launch

Lenovo today welcomed the coming new year with a bang, unleashing a barrage of premium devices to cater to the PC and PC Plus trends including the Yoga, Flex and smartphone series. The number one global PC maker looks to continue the momentum of its outstanding past two quarter performance in both traditional PC markets and smart devices.

The new line-up of Yoga devices includes the highly-anticipated Yoga Tablet, Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro and ThinkPad Yoga. The Flex series includes the introduction of the Lenovo Flex 14 and Flex 20 convertible notebooks.

Aside from its outstanding performance as a PC and PC Plus maker, Lenovo demonstrated tremendous growth in the smartphone and smart devices arena, pushing itself to the number three position in the world in the past quarter. And outstanding achievement despite being a very new player in the segment. Its flagship Lenovo K900 smartphone has sold over 13.9 million units worldwide.

Lenovo announced an updated K900 smartphone today, with 32GB storage and coming with a black colour option.

Khoo Hung Chuan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Malaysia said during the media launch, ”Despite the ongoing global economic slowdown, Lenovo has maintained its status as the number 1 PC supplier with 17.7% of the global PC market share, up 2 points year-over-year. Our strategy for such resilient business momentum is through our Protect & Attack strategy combined with our commitment to innovation and the understanding of our customer experience. We continuously strive to offer them new technology and products that are capable to adapt to their needs and new usage scenarios as well as preferences.”

Also gracing the event was Prakash Mallya, Country Manager, Intel Malaysia and Singapore who lamented, “Intel will continue to drive the PC innovation by creating better processors and bringing in new technologies as we believe that the mobile computing devices category will continue to evolve further led by strong demands for high-performing technologies, packaged as slim, lightweight devices for portability an easy access to the internet.”
