Nokia‘s flagship Lumia 925 smartphone has officially arrived on Malaysia shores. The latest addition to the Lumia family features a sexy new polycarbonate body encased in aluminium and comes integrated with class-leading optics.

A sleek new Lumia
The new Lumia 925 can only be described as beautiful, with its signature Lumia polycarbonate body, this time encased in aluminium. Very premium, and certainly very sexy. At just 8.5mm and weighing in at a mere 139g, it is as sleek and light as they come. Nokia certainly have learned from the shortcomings of the outgoing flagship, the Lumia 920 – which was a beautiful device, but weighed a ton.

The 4.5-inch AMOLED PureMotion HD+ display (1280×768), protected by Gorilla Glass 2, features ClearBlack technology and Sunlight Readability that promises clear, bright images and text.

Sweet shooter
The most touted feature of the Lumia 925 undeniably, is the PureView Camera. The 8.7MP main shooter with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Carl Zeiss optics looks like a winner. With the advanced Nokia Smart Camera mode, Nokia again leads the pack with options like Best Shot, Action Shot, Motion Focus and Change Faces. The secondary camera is rated at 1.2MP.

Full-featured flagship
The Lumia 925 also comes with the expected bells and whistles – 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and Glonass, microUSB port and Qi-certified wireless charging via an accessory cover.

In the heart of the Lumia 925 is a 1.5Ghz dual-core Snapdragon processor, bundled with 1GB RAM and 16GB of flash storage space.

The bundled battery is rated 2000mAh which should be ample for everyday use, although we have the opinion that it should be even bigger.

Windows-powered goodness
The Lumia 925 runs Amber, the latest software update for Nokia Windows Phone 8 devices. The update enables support for Data Sense app, Glance Screen and boasts better battery life. The update also brings Bluetooth 4.0 support to other Lumia devices – Lumia 720, Lumia 620 and Lumia 520.

HERE we go
Nokia, as with other Lumia models, has included the whole shebang of HERE apps and services – HERE Maps with Livesight, HERE Drive+ and free HERE transit available in the Windows Store.

Nokia is also bundling 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage and Microsoft Office.

Pricing and Availability
The new Lumia 925 comes in white, grey and black and will retail at a very competitive price of RM1,799 (SRP). The new device is set to reach stores in Klang Valley in early August and mid-August for the rest of Malaysia.
